Some of the fashion trends 2026 is bringing are completely new, while some are those trends we thought were gone but somehow decided to come back again. And honestly, I’m not complaining because some of them are actually really cute.
This year feels like a mix of everything—baggy jeans, fitted blazers, fun prints, ’90s-inspired looks, bold colors and little details that can make a basic outfit look so much better. I’ve done my usual amount of Pinterest scrolling (probably more than I should), so I picked out some of the latest fashion trends I think we’re going to be seeing everywhere in 2026. Let’s get into it.
1. Fringe Is Going to Be Everywhere
I never thought I’d say this, but fringe is going to be so in for fall 2026. I’m telling you, we’re going to be seeing it everywhere, on things like jackets, bags, skirts and shoes. It’s such a fun and unique texture, and I love how it moves when you walk.
I think fringe can make even a very simple outfit look more interesting. You don’t have to wear a full fringe outfit either. A fringe bag with jeans and a basic top can already give you that little extra detail, or you can go for a fringe jacket if you really want to make a statement. I can already imagine this being all over Pinterest with boots and a simple pair of jeans. It’s definitely giving cool-girl fall.
2. Distressed Jeans Are Back
Distressed jeans are back, but I think we’re going to see them in a more baggy and slouchier silhouette. I don’t think it’s going to be about those super tight ripped jeans we used to see everywhere. This time, I think the jeans will have light rips and tears, giving them a very lived-in style.
I actually really like this because baggy jeans are so easy to style. You can wear them with a simple T-shirt and sneakers for a casual look, or add a fitted top and heels when you want to dress them up a little. I also love the idea of wearing a fitted blazer with baggy distressed jeans because the contrast just works. I guess ripped jeans are officially cool again.
3. Slouchy Boots Are the Cool-Girl Shoe
Slouchy boots are going to be the cool-girl shoe this fall. I love how fun and elevated these are, and I especially love a baggy outfit with some slouchy boots. There is just something about them that makes an outfit look effortless without looking boring.
I think we’re going to be seeing them with dresses, skirts, baggy jeans and oversized jackets. Personally, I love the idea of wearing a simple dress with slouchy boots because you can literally put the outfit together so easily. You could also wear them with distressed jeans for that relaxed fall look. If you don’t have any slouchy boots yet, you might want it because I really think we’re going be seeing them everywhere.
4. Bandanas Are Not Going Anywhere
Bandanas are not going anywhere, so don’t worry if you already have one in your wardrobe. These were one of my favorite fashion trends in spring and summer, and I think we’re officially going to be seeing them everywhere this fall too.
I think we’re going to see a lot of muted and darker-color bandanas this time, which I actually love because they work so well with fall outfits. You can wear one around your neck, put it in your hair or even tie it onto your handbag. I really love how such a small thing can change the whole outfit. Even a simple jeans-and-top look can suddenly feel much more styled with a little bandana. It’s such an easy trend to try without doing too much.
5. Animal Print Is Getting Even Bigger
Animal print is going to be everywhere this fall. Especially cowhide and zebra, which I love so much. We are going to see animal print in everything—I’m talking bags, jackets, shoes, skirts and probably a lot more.
I think animal print is so fun but elevated at the same time. If you’re not someone who normally wears a lot of prints, you can start with a bag or a pair of shoes. But if you really love it, an animal-print jacket can be such a statement piece. I would probably keep the rest of the outfit simple with jeans or black basics so the print gets to do all the talking. This is one of those 2026 fashion trends that can make a basic outfit look like you actually put a lot of thought into it.
6. Plaid Is Coming Back in More Ways
Yes, we will be seeing flannels everywhere, but we’re also going to see plaid in so many other ways, like pants, skirts and shirts. I love a plaid or flannel piece that is very muted and looks a little lived-in. It just gives me that perfect fall feeling.
You can go for an oversized plaid shirt with jeans and boots, or wear plaid pants with a simple fitted top. I also think a plaid skirt with boots would be really cute. You don’t have to choose a very bright plaid either. Browns, grey, black and other muted colors can make it feel more relaxed. I can already see this one all over those cozy fall Pinterest boards.
7. Baseball Tees and ’90s Style Are Coming Back
Another one I’m really loving is baseball tees. I personally love any three-quarter-length sleeve shirt, so I already know I’m going to like this trend. The sleeves add a little pop of color, and I think we’re going to be seeing a lot of different vintage styles too.
I also feel like this is a very different take on the usual graphic tee. You can wear a baseball tee with baggy jeans, sneakers and a little shoulder bag for that casual ’90s kind of look. And speaking of the ’90s, ’90s minimalism is officially back too. There is nothing cooler than those classic, clean looks where you only need a few good basics. For me, a simple turtleneck tank top with a beige midi skirt, sunglasses and heels is already giving that chic ’90s look. I’m obsessed with this whole vibe.
8.Tote Bags and More
Tote bags are definitely staying around in 2026. I love a good everyday tote because it’s roomy, structured and you can literally put everything in it. It works for work, shopping, running errands or just those days when you somehow need to carry your whole life with you.
But I don’t think it’s going to be only tote bags. We’re also going to be seeing shoulder bags, mini bags, slouchy bags and bigger statement bags. I personally love a small shoulder bag with a simple outfit because it just makes everything look a little more put together.
I think bags are one of the easiest ways to try a fashion trend without changing your whole outfit. You can keep your clothes really simple and just add a fun bag to make the whole look more interesting. So if you’re building your handbag collection, having a few different styles for different outfits is definitely worth it.
9. Croc Print Is Taking Over
First, the croc print. I feel like this is going to be one of the prints of fall—bags, shoes, belts, basically anything. If it looks like it could bite you, we are wearing it.
What I like about croc print is that you don’t have to do much with it. A simple black outfit with a croc-print bag or belt can make the whole look feel a little more expensive and put together. You can also try croc-print shoes with jeans and a basic top. I would personally keep the rest of the outfit simple because the texture already gives you enough going on. If you’re not sure about the trend, I’d start with a small accessory and see how you feel about it.
10. Fitted Blazers and Pencil Skirts Are Back
Next, we are officially shrinking our clothes again. Blazers are getting a little more fitted, the tops are getting a little more tailored, and the waist is coming back. I’m not saying your oversized blazer is cancelled, but maybe let her rest for a minute.
I actually like this one because fitted blazers can make a basic outfit look so much more put together. I would love to see one with baggy jeans because I like that mix of fitted and oversized. Pencil skirts are also coming back, and I actually love this one because it feels really classic without feeling boring. Fitted, tailored and then literally everything—plaid, leather, wool, denim. You can wear one with a fitted top and heels, or make it more casual with a loose sweater and boots.
11. Red Is Having a Major Moment
Red is having a major moment, and not just like a tiny red accessory. I’m talking sweaters, coats, shoes, skirts and bags. We are committing to red, which I love because it’s such an easy way to make a basic fall outfit feel more interesting.
Personally, I think a red sweater with simple jeans would be such an easy outfit. You can also add a red bag or shoes if wearing a full red piece feels like too much. And if you’re feeling brave, a red coat can literally be the whole outfit. I feel like this is one of those colors that can make a very simple outfit stand out without you needing to add much else.

So yeah, those are some of the fashion trends I think we’re going to be seeing a lot in 2026. But obviously, you don’t have to wear every single trend just because it’s popular. I think fashion is more about finding what actually works for you and what makes you feel good.
